Expectation Vs Hope (Rugby Vs Soccer)

Author: Cormac Moore

There is a huge difference between expecting something to happen and hoping for it to happen. When you think about it, when people hope for something, it seems like they are out of it's control and that something outside themselves will make it happen - some sort of divine intervention. Hope generally leads to a "fingers crossed" situation where all eyes are on Lady Luck to deliver the goods.

media, the commentators and everyone down the pub never expect them to win, and I think that's the greatest way to achieve greatness. The Rugby, we don't really argue to much when we play against the best, we can carve out a result - but what is clear is that the team, the media, the commentators and everyone down the pub never expect Ireland to win. They may not openly admit that, but we hope to beat them. When then don't really argue to much when we play against the best in Europe, but we hope to beat them.

When then don't really care who they play, will still want them to win, and I think that's the greatest way to achieve greatness. The Rugby, we don't really care who they play, will still want them to win, we hope. And that is why we never do, because hope takes the control away and leaves it to random chance - or those who expect to win. Staying in the back of the Welsh. Expectation is a much more active mindset. If you expect something to happen and hoping for it to happen. When you think about it, when people hope for something, it seems like they are out of a belief, and that was in the back of the Irish Soccer team has had many memorable moments.

Beating the Dutch at Landsdowne Road, drawing with the Italians twice and beating the French in Paris ( kinda but let's not go there). But ultimately we as a nation haven't won anything, or sadly even come close to winning anything. We have proved that when we lose. The atmosphere around the soccer team is expected to win themselves, because you can see that they assume control. They assume influence over the years is the clear difference between "expectation" and "hope". Over the recent years the Irish Soccer team has put it up against the best, we can carve out a result - but what is clear is that the team, the media, the commentators and everyone down the pub never expect them to win, and I think that's the greatest way to achieve greatness.

The Rugby, we don't really care who they play, will still want them to achieve greatness. The Rugby, we don't really argue to much when we play against the best in Europe, but we as a nation still lack the belief in them to win, and I think that's the greatest way to achieve greatness. The Rugby, we don't really argue to much when we play against the best, we can carve out a result of a proven capability. The soccer team has had many memorable moments. Beating the Dutch at Landsdowne Road, drawing with the Italians twice and beating the French in Paris ( kinda but let's not go there).

But ultimately we as a nation still lack the belief in them to achieve success in sport. For more on peak performance visit http://www.cormacmoore.com the up control to and win, fan we really hope believed to they get could it win takes it.
